Earlier this month I posted some of my favourite candid street portraits where I had composed the shot conventionally using the viewfinder. A good way of taking photographs of people in the street unnoticed is to 'shoot from the hip' i.e. take a picture while holding the camera away from your face. Of course taking pictures this way is a bit hit and miss but it does offer the opportunity to take photographs of strangers without them noticing. Here are a few of my better examples.

Kei Mouth
Pictures from a visit to this Eastern Cape town in 2007.
On top of a hill in the town is this cross.
The view of Kei Mouth from the cross.
A farm just outside the town.
The Kei River mouth.
Locals departing the ferry that crosses the river.
On the ferry.
Passengers queuing for the ferry on the other side of the river.

Burgers
I have an unusual habit of photographing food and in particular burgers before I stuff my face with them. Not the most artistic photography but it sure makes me hungry looking at these shots.
Wimpy Bacon, Cheese & Hash Brown Burger.
Mcfeast Deluxe from Mickey D's, my current fave!
The much lamented KFC Double Crunch burger.
Home made chicken burgers and chips.
Hamburger from Dodge City Diner in Cape Town.
KFC Streetwise Mega Deal.

New York April 2008 - The Empire State Building
The most iconic skyscraper in the World was a must see on our trip to New York.
