Shooting From The Hip
Earlier this month I posted some of my favourite candid street portraits where I had composed the shot conventionally using the viewfinder. A good way of taking photographs of people in the street unnoticed is to 'shoot from the hip' i.e. take a picture while holding the camera away from your face. Of course taking pictures this way is a bit hit and miss but it does offer the opportunity to take photographs of strangers without them noticing. Here are a few of my better examples.
