HD2 (Honeymoon Day 2)

I managed to post yesterdays entry twice! After initially sending from my phone i got a report saying that the email was not sent. I resent the mail and then found out both messages had been posted! Today we went to Pilgrims Rest, an old gold mining town and then went to Graskop to do some shopping.

Fw: Honeymoon Day 1

Saturday was such a perfect day. Though one tries not to worry, you are always concerned before such an important event and its a great relief when everything goes off smoothly! I will have to wait until we are back home before i can post box pictures me the big day. Anyway back to the original topic, we arrived at Crystal Springs in the Eastern Transvaal just after 6pm after a 12 hour and 700km drive. I was feeling a bit unwell beforehand and when we got here i just passed out for a couple me hours. Feeling a bit better now so i will see how im feeling tomorrow before we decide what we are going to do with the day.

No Work For Three Weeks :o)

Yes, I'm now on leave for the next three weeks, and what a three weeks they are going to be! My Mum and brother arrive tomorrow, the rest of the week is going to be occupied by wedding related activities until the big day on Saturday. Sunday will be a day to recuperate before we leave very early Monday to go on our Honeymoon in the Eastern Transvaal (expect daily updates here via my mobile phone). After a week doing whatever people do on their honeymoons it's back to Durban to spend time with my Mum and Brother. By the way the accompanying photo is totally unrelated :o)

Durban Mitchell Park

Durban Mitchell Park

This morning we went into town to sort out a few things for the Wedding (only one week to go!). Once we had done what we had to do, we decided to take a walk in Mitchell Park. As we had not planned this I had not brought a camera with me but I did have my Sony Ericsson K750i. I managed to get some quite nice pics from it, it was especially handy when taking pictures like this where the small lens can peek through tiny holes in an animals cage.

I'm sure these little Monkeys must have been the inspiration for the movie Gremlins!

Jody popped round last night so we could discuss wedding plans. He also brought his PSP round a few new games he has bought recently. I showed him my new FIFA 2006 for the PC and managed to beat him twice before losing the third game in a penalty shoot out. We've been playing Actua Soccer 2 on a regular basis since 1999 (I think the game originall came out in 1997) and so FIFA 2006 is quite an upgrade in graphics. Saying that though, there are some things I miss about some older Soccer games, Actua 2 had animated big screens when you ran it in 3dfx, FIFA 1997 had a cool indoor Soccer game and I think one of the FIFA games from a few years back had more animation on the sidelines things like moving TV cameramen. Though the actual game in FIFA 2006 is brilliant, I wonder why the off pitch eye candy has been reduced?

Movies not showing in Opera?

For some reason today I can't see the movies on this page
when I look at it in Opera, when I use the ghastly IE the
appear okay. It's quite odd because they showed up in
Opera before and I have not changed anything in Opera.
When I look at the original video clips at Google they
appear fine.

Anyone else having problems?

Rubbish Bin Busker

When I was in Cambridge last August I was walking through the centre of town and I came upon this guy playing his guitar and singing inside a rubbish bin.

A1 Grand Prix Durban 2006

Here is the video footage I took with my digital camera during the A1 Grand Prix that was held here in Durban at the end of January. That was such a wonderful three days. By the way the hotel where we are having our wedding reception is the Blue Waters which is where turn 2 of the circuit was.

Three weeks to go

Yes its three weeks to go to our wedding! I think we have most things sorted out. There are just a few minor issues to attend to. Its going to be quite a frantic few days before the wedding day with my mum and brother arriving from the uk.

Kings park

I tried to go and take some more pictures of the Kings Park soccer stadium yesterday. Unfortunately the gate was locked and i could not get in. I could have taken some pics from outside but parking is difficult there and there were lots of dubious types hanging around so i decided it might be better to go back at the weekend. Once it is demolished i want to also keep a record of the new stadiums construction.

I noticed the spider on the window and quickly pulled out my phone from my pocket, switched it to the macro setting and took the shot.

Blank post where I attempted to post an MMS

Still not perfect

Word Wrap?

How do you get word wrap to work on this. I keep getting
lines going write across the page! How am I meant to
know when to start a new line?

Got My Mobile Email Account

Finally managed to set up an email account on my cellphone. I ended up
phoning customer care at 6am to try and avoid having to hang on for
half the day! It might take a few hours for the account to be activated,
once it's working I will see if I can post here from it!

Todd Blog

I suppose I should have put the message with the link below. To be honest I had no idea what was going to happen when I clicked on 'Blog This' on his site!

No Pic?

Well I guess that didn't work as I expected!

While I wait to get through to Vodacom I'm trying out the post via
email option. I don't know if the photo will appear as well? It's
camera club tomorrow night and the topic for the comp is White. I
guess the clouds are white in this pic?

Mobile Woes

I was trying to post a message from my phone earlier today but it
seems like I need to set up an email account on my phone for which
I need to contact my service provider (Vodacom). So far today I
have phoned three times and spent over an hour and a half on hold
waiting to speak to someone, so far without any success! I'm getting
a little bit frustrated now!

Durban Kings Park Soccer Stadium

Durban Kings Park Soccer Stadium

Durban Kings Park Soccer Stadium

I don't think I ever watched a game of Soccer at this stadium (though I did watch an African Nations Cup match next door at the Rugby Stadium) but I used to come and watch Speedway and midget racing and I seem to remember going to a concert there once.

There was quite a lot of work going on at the ground while I was there so I didn't dare to venture inside the stadium, instead I took my pictures from the perimeter of the ground.

Durban Kings Park Soccer Stadium

I heard on the radio yesterday morning (coincidentally the day of the 2006 World Cup Final) that they were already demolishing the stadium so after work I rushed down there to get some shots of the old ground before it vanishes forever.
